The routes

All four start from 91 Pinehurst Dr. Distances and climbs are approximate; every ride is dramatically easier with a battery.

Mammoth Town Loop

Best easy ride directly from the house

  • Distance9–10 mi
  • Gain550–700 ft
  • E-bikeEasy

A relaxed tour of Mammoth — Sherwin Range views, Mammoth Creek, Eagle Lodge, and Old Mammoth. Eagle Lodge is about a mile from the house on quiet residential streets; from there the loop links paved multi-use paths, neighborhood streets, and bridges.

Protected path most of the way · some on-street sections

Sherwins Vista

Best short ride with open mountain views

  • Distance7.5–8.5 mi
  • Gain450–600 ft
  • E-bikeEasy

A scenic out-and-back over Mammoth Creek Valley with the Sherwin Range filling the sky — a great destination ride without committing to the full Town Loop. Ride toward Eagle Lodge, then follow the loop through Old Mammoth to Mammoth Creek Park and the vista.

Protected path for most of the route after Eagle Lodge

Lake Mary

Best longer lake ride

  • Distance10–11 mi
  • Gain850–1,000 ft
  • E-bikeEasy–Mod

A scenic climb into the Lakes Basin past forest overlooks, Twin Lakes, and Lake Mamie before reaching Lake Mary. The first mile and a half rolls through residential streets toward the Village; from there you join the separated Lakes Basin Path.

Short residential section · protected path for most of the ride

Horseshoe Lake

Best for confident riders

  • Distance13–14 mi
  • Gain1,100–1,250 ft
  • E-bikeModerate

The longest recommended ride climbs to the top of the Lakes Basin, where Horseshoe Lake sits ringed by forest and peaks. A sustained climb up, a long downhill home — take the descent easy and stay on the paved path (e-bikes aren't allowed on the unpaved lake loop).

Paved & separated in the basin · caution on the descent
